An important factor to understand when choosing a monitor is its refresh rate, especially if you like to play competitive esports games such as CS: GO and Rainbow Six Siege.
The refresh rate of your monitor is measured in hertz (Hz) and indicates how quickly the image on your screen can be refreshed. For example, if you have a 144Hz monitor, it can refresh its display 144 times per second.
Most gaming monitors come with a refresh rate of either 60Hz or 120Hz, but higher-end models can go as high as 240Hz. If your monitor is set at 60Hz, then you’ll want to change it to 120Hz or 240Hz by going into the monitor settings and making this change manually.
While this process is fairly straightforward, it can still be a little tricky if you’ve never done it before. For that reason, we’ve created this easy-to-follow guide on how to check and change a monitor’s refresh rate.
